Kids ~ Cooking & Crafts

This is an opportunity for children to explore their capabilities and to discover what they can create and share with others.

Amy will be starting off the afternoon baking cookies and after cleaned up, some crafts for Valentine’s Day.

The children will be involved in the entire process from preparing and measuring ingredients to shaping their cookies and putting them on the cookie sheet. And who knows, maybe they will want to take some to school to show their teachers and friends what they have created on their own. (There will be assistance for those who may need a little help).

This is for children between the ages 10 - 13 to step into a space which has been created for them to explore their potential and consider possibilities that they may not have thought about before.

Shaping our Future – Women’s Leadership Series

Lori Walton is creating a new series of sessions being held once a month to be an invitation for conversations, mentoring and new relationships to be built.

Topic for February – Fundamentals of Leadership

This program is for women who are trying to discover their own leadership within and for women who are already in “leadership” positions.The invitation is for women who are comfortable, confident and catalysts in their lives and careers to come and share stories, thoughts and ideas with the women who are there who have not yet discovered the leaders they already are in their lives. The benefit of these conversations will be felt by all who participate.

This group will meet the 1st Wednesday of every month, beginning on February 6th, 2008 from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m., at:

Louise in conversation on depression

January 30th found Louise in conversation with Jean Dean of Viewpoint, a regular offering of  Radio 930 WRVC Hutington, West Virginia – the first radio station in West Virginia. 

Sparked by an extensive article in the Wall Street Journal on the prevalance of pharmaceuticals; and bolstered by a recent three-page spread on Depression in the ‘Ottawa Citizen’ (The Ottawa Citizen, Saturday, January 12, 2008 with Don Butler), Louise and Jean explored a different way to consider depression, given that our current approach is not producing the results we want.

Whatever your work/function may be; wherever your days unfold, Emerging Futures: Entrepreneurial Women is the opportunity for women to gather in a small group… talking about designing their lives – and their world.  Status, income, age, etc. are not the determining factors in this conversation.  What matters is your desire to shape the world – your world! – and your ability to invite into it the people you care about.
